– Parc de Montjuic (30′)
Montjuïc is a broad shallow hill with a relatively flat top overlooking the harbour. The eastern side of the hill is almost a sheer cliff, giving it a commanding view over the city’s harbour immediately below. The top of the hill (a height of 184.8 m) was the site of several fortifications, the latest of which (the Castle of Montjuïc) remains today. The views of the city from Montjuic are a must for a Barcelona visit.
– Casa Batllo (10′ Admission NOT included)
Designed by the world-known architect Antoni Gaudí, Casa Batlló is a building in the centre of Barcelona. Being built originally as a regular house it was redesigned in 1904 by Gaudí and has been refurbished several times after that. Gaudí’s assistant Domènec Sugrañes i Gras, We will stop by for an outside look and photo session.
– Casa Mila (10′ Admission NOT included)
Casa Milà is popularly known as La Pedrera or “The stone quarry” due to its unconventional rough-hewn appearance. Commissioned in 1906 by Pere Milà, it was built between 1906 and 1912, it is a modernist building and it was the last private residence designed by architect Antoni Gaudí. At the time, it was controversial because of its undulating stone facade and twisting iron balconies. Here we will stop by for an outside look and photo session.
– Basilica of the Sagrada Familia (25′ Admission NOT included)
The Basílica de la Sagrada Família is undoubtedly the most famous building in Barcelona. It is a large unfinished Roman Catholic minor basilica designed by Spanish/Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí (1852–1926), his work on the building is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. On 7 November 2010, Pope Benedict XVI consecrated the church and proclaimed it a minor basilica. We will review its history and ongoing heritage during an amazing walk around it.
– Gothic Quarter (Barri Gotic) (25′)
The Gothic Quarter is the historic centre of Barcelona´s old city. It retains a labyrinthine street plan, with many small streets opening out into squares. It also includes the remains of the city’s Roman wall and several notable medieval landmarks.
– Barcelona Cathedral (20′)
Here we will find the majestic Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia or simply Barcelona Cathedral, it is the Gothic cathedral and seat of the Archbishop of Barcelona. It was constructed from the thirteenth to fifteenth centuries. We will do a good walk through all these world-class attractions.
