This tour includes: • Round trip, private, air-conditioned transportation from the cruise ship pier • Bilingual tour guide • Entrance fees to Carara National Park • A hike through the forest and along the river • Lunch at a local restaurant
Carara is one of the best places in Costa Rica to see the large and colourful scarlet macaw and many other bird species, as well as a variety of forest animals.
This tour will take you on a hike along a short, slightly hilly, loop trail through the forest, near the park headquarters, and along a flat, walkable road between the forest edge and the River Tárcoles, where American crocodiles are commonly seen along the banks.
Mangrove forests and tidal flats at the mouth of the Tárcoles add yet another facet to Carara’s rich habitats.
The climate ranges from hot and dry (mid-November to April) to hot and humid, during the rainy season(the rest of the year).
Most of these naturalist guides, the most professional in the country, have been with this company for more than 10 years. Many are specialists in birds, plant life, or archaeology.
