Athanasakeion Museum of Volos established in 1909. Here, you will view the findings of the excavations in the Magnesia region, including the exclusive funerary steles-considered to be masterpieces of the Hellenistic art of the 3rd Century B.C. Also, you will admire exhibits such as Neolithic graves and findings from the prehistoric sites of Dimini and Sesklo.
– Portaria
This traditional village is worth a visit for its stunning location, amazing architecture, and unique history. The uphill street, passes in front of the old Town Hall, and leads to the main square, which is surrounded by restaurants, cafes and local shops. Along the way, you are accompanied by the sound of running water coming from the numerous stone founts.
– Centaurs’ Path
Centaur’s Path in Portaria village is a hidden gem in Pelion, definitely worth visiting. Walk on this special path following the footsteps of the legendary Centaur Chiron and having the chance to admire some of the most impressive sights of the area, let alone the splendid nature that makes this place look like a paradise on Earth.

It is also called the “balcony of Pelion” thanks to the magnificent view of the entire Pagasitiko gulf.
